3 Configuration
- Martin Ulisse
- Mathias Mattson (MHM)
- Go to your website's folder (usually C:/Webs/insights.yourdomain.com) and open the file named siteConfig.xml with your preferred text editor (we recommend Notepad++ to get the best overview).
- In this file, you must edit the following (please use the image below for reference):
- (1) WebServiceUrl, change the [DAM URL], to point at the Digizuite™ DAM Center installation exteded by "/DamstatWS/DamstatWS.asmx". (e.g. https://dam.yourdomain.com/DamstatWS/DamstatWS.asmx)
- (2 and 3) Username and Password under the tag login. These are your login information to login to Digizuite™ Insights. This is not a Digizuite™ DAM Center member, hence you will not be able to use your previously configured users for Insights. Instead, you'll have to define some new credentials in these fields. The user may have the same password and username as an existing DAM user. Both username and password are case sensitive, meaning that e.g. writing Administrator in the file, and then trying to login with administrator will not work.
- (4 and 5) Username and Password under the tag accesskey. By default the user's username is System, and the password is the MD5 hash key found in System's entry in the database table named "member". Do not use another user for these fields, unless being told otherwise by your Digizuite Contact Person.
- Remember to save the file, for the changes to take effect.
How to make Insights show data
In order to make the data collected be visible in Digizuite Insights, you need to do the following:
- Go to your database server, and access the table named DamStat_Customer.
- If the table is empty, you have to create a new entry, where the CustomerId is set to 1 and Customer_Name is set to Default (see image below for reference). If your DAM Center was version 4.8.0 or above when you made a new installation, you do not have to do this. That said, pre 4.8.0 installations may also have this set by default.
How to make original source files show in Insights
In order for Insights to show you downloads for original source files, you will need to do the following
- In your database, edit the table named DamStat_Target_Media_Format.
- Insert a new entry as shown in the image below:
Best practice is to name it "Original". If you prefer, you may choose another name for it.
How to make the Media Manager and the Video Portal show data
Go to your Media Manager's or Video Portal's web.config file, usually located here "C:/Webs/mediamanager.yourdomain.com/web.config"
In this file, you must find the key named "EnableDAMStats" and set the value to "true"
Go to your Media Manager, and delete your MM's site data, by first accessing your Media Manager, then press F12 on your keyword and go to Application → Clear storage and press "Clear site data". (See image below)
Now when you login again, you'll be able to see this login in Insights.
In what ways you can use Insights
After these configurations are done, you should be able to login the the application and start using it. Of course entries in Insights will only be visible, when the system has logged data.
To make data appear, do the following:
- Log into your connected DAM Center, Media Manager or Video Portal.
- Downloading assets from either of the above mentioned products.
The above examples are currently the only things being tracked by Digizuite Insights
