MM 6.1 Configuration of the portal styles

It is only necessary to create a style once for it to be used repeatedly in multiple portals and spaces.

To create or modify a portal style, select ‘Administration' from the topbar and then click the 'Brand portals’ tab.

Note! Only users with the roles ‘Can_configure_portals', ‘FileRepository_Upload', ‘FileRepository_Delete’ and ‘Editor_systemTools_config' will see the tab and be able to configure the brand portal portals.

Below is an example of how a group of existing portal styles is shown (and note that new styles can be created at any time).

Note! The global style is the style used by the Media Manager

To style each brand portal showroom, the following can be configured/customized:

Logo tab

Users can insert any graphic as the top left logo on the page. We recommend using PNGs and SVGs up to 100 KB. The logo can be set for both desktop and mobile views.

Theme colors tab

There are multiple colors that can be set for each portal style. To change these colors, click on the color and enter the RGBA value. Alternatively, users can change colors through the color selector UI.

Each color setting controls the color of the UI elements.

Examples:

Theme color – the color used for highlighting UI elements such as the selection menu, tab, home icon, folder icons.

Icons and text – the color of the text throughout the UI, as well as the color of the icons on the menu bar.

Top bar background colors – the dominant colors in the top bar of the Media Manager.

Fonts tab

Three headline fonts can be selected by adjusting the UI accordingly – the hero banner headline, the hero banner subtitle, and the cover image font. Users can set the same font for all three, or different fonts can be used for each.

To add a new font, click the ‘Manage fonts’ button at the bottom of the tab, and then select font type.

Both True Type Fonts (TTF) or Web Open Font Format (WOFF) are available.

Asset card tab

The image assigned to each displayed asset is part of the asset card. Now, in each brand portal view, users can change the style of these asset cards.

Asset Card Layout

Either select the original default card style, which displays several metadata fields, or select the new custom style cards, where the asset is in focus.

Below, in the top image, you’ll first see the default asset card layout. This is compared to the image below the default, which is customized with a different hover effect and width.

Users can customize multiple elements of the asset card style.

Users can change the design of the asset cards based on the dominant types of assets.

If there is a mix of portrait and landscape images, then a square aspect ratio for the asset cards might be suitable. However, if there are many videos, then landscape formatting is likely better. If the space has many photos of people, then a portrait aspect ratio is likely optimal.

The background color can be set for cases in which the card is not completely filled by the asset.
