MM 6.1 Thumbnails for video assets
In case of video assets, the user can decide on the thumbnail that will represent the asset.
In order to change the default thumbnail, the user needs to select 'Change thumbnail' from the list of available actions on the asset card.
The user has now three possibilities in the new modal that will open in the center of the screen.
1. Generating thumbnails
The first option is located under the tab ‘Random frame’. Six randomly generated thumbnails from the video are displayed underneath. The user can either select one of the already available options or be presented with a new set of randomly generated thumbnails by clicking ‘Generate new thumbnails’ at the bottom left of the modal.
The user can now select one of the visible options as the new video thumbnail.
2. Manual selection of a thumbnail
The second option is located under the tab “Specific frame”. It provides the possibility of selecting any frame from the video asset. The user needs to drag the slider of the video timeline until the desired frame is reached. It can now be saved as the new thumbnail.
3. Choose a custom image
The third option is located under the tab “Custom image”. It provides the possibility of selecting an image asset from the library. Click 'Choose image' to select an image via the asset picker. It can now be saved as the new thumbnail.
Saving the selection
Whether the new thumbnail was selected from the list of randomly generated options or was chosen manually, the user needs to click ‘Save’ at the bottom right of the modal in order to confirm the change. The new thumbnail might not be visible immediately.
A confirmation dialog will be displayed in the lower right corner of the homepage.
