Basic search functionality
The user can find assets by the means of free text search by clicking the white rectangle on the top bar.
While the user types in the text, the results are narrowed down in real time.
The top 6 asset results appear on the top part of the list under the search box (section ‘Assets’), without having to execute the search. Each list item contains a small thumbnail, title and location of the asset. Hovering mouse pointer over each item will result in a larger asset preview on the right. The larger preview offers the access to a few more metadata values as well as a few action options dependent on the user’s access rights.
The user can click ‘View all’ in order to execute the search and see all the results in the main window.
The user has the ability to multiselect assets from the list of top 6 results without having to execute the search. The selected assets will be included in the selection pool according to the normal principles of multiselection. In order to select an asset, the user needs to hover mouse pointer over an asset and then over the thumbnail in the larger preview on the right. The clickable checkmark will be visible in the upper left corner of the asset thumbnail.
Search inclusive of grouped assets
From version 5.2.0 there are multiple types of content displayed in the search results. These are:
assets
collections
folders.
This function allows the user to quickly find collections, folders and subfolders with the name known to this user.
Hovering the mouse pointer over collection name or folder name displayed in the list of quick search results will show all the assets available in this collection/folder.
Advanced search
Note
The advanced search functionality is not available for guest users as it requires read access to metadata fields.
Apart from the basic search that allows for finding assets, folders and collections based on their metadata, there exists also a possibility of performing an advanced search with the use of a number of criteria.
In order to access the advanced search functionality the user needs to activate the free-text search field on the top bar and then click ‘Advanced search’ icon, as presented below:
The button opens a new section below the top bar and the ‘Home’ button. The user can now add new queries by selecting a '+' symbol.
The elements of the advanced search section are explained in the screenshot below:
1 - Queries.
2 - 'Collapse/Expand button. It allows the user to close the panel without clearing the results of the search.
3 - ‘Clear’ button. It resets the search results.
4 - ‘Save search’ button. It allows the user to save the search results for later use.
5 - ‘Close’ button. It closes the panel without resetting the results. The search panel can be opened again by clicking on the icon in the free-text search field at the top bar.
6 - ‘Remove search criteria' button. It removes a line of query.
7 - ‘Add search criteria’ button. It add a line of query.
Types of queries
The advanced search functionality is versatile and depends on the metadata fields. Regardless of the metadata field type, the user can search based on empty fields. Otherwise, the type of search performed depends on the type. Please find the available options in the table below:

Saved searches
The user has the ability to save all search results obtained from a combination of attributes (e.g. free-text search, filters). The saved search is dynamic, i.e. it is updated as more or less assets available in the system can be categorized by the aforementioned attributes.
Example
A user saves all the images with the keyword ‘business’. At the time there are 18 search results. Since then, 2 more images with the same keyword are added. Next time the user accesses the saved search, there are 20 results available.
In order to save search results, the user needs to click ‘Save search’ button available among the filter chips in the space above the assets.
In the pop-up dialog the user can then name the new search.
All the saved searches, sorted from the newest to oldest, can be accessed by clicking the empty free-text search box.
Next to each search result, there is a number of actions available:
