Media Manager 5.9.0

Duplicate detection

Duplicate detection has been enhanced with additional detection types.
If duplicate detection is enabled, the chosen duplicate detection types will be used when an asset is uploaded.

In Portal config manager settings:

  1. Click Enable duplicate detection

  2. Choose from the following Duplicate detection types

  • Perceptual hash

  • Sha1 hash

  • Use metadata field

  • Original filename

  1. Depending on the types chosen, customize further options. These will be ignored if the related detection type has not been selected

    1. Use metadata field > Specify field used for comparison

    2. Original filename > Choose with or without extension

    3. Perceptual hash > Specify threshold for detection

Analytics

A new section has been added showing system usage data. It can be accessed through the Settings cogwheel, provided the user has the correct roles.

The following things are tracked in the system

  • Asset downloads

  • User logins

  • Collection shares

Administration section (beta version)

Parts of DAM center functionality has been implemented in the Media Manager. (The rest will be added in the 5.10.0 release)

The following parts can now be configured by choosing Settings > System Administration in the Media Manager's top menu.

  • Users and Groups

  • Metadata

  • Digizuite constants

  • Language

Single asset sharing

A single asset can now be shared via a link that prompts a download of the asset. Anyone with the link will be able to download the asset in its original quality.

Access the functionality via the asset’s Share button provided the user has the correct roles for sharing (same roles as for collection sharing apply).

Metadata editor UI

New features include

  • Group navigation (Navigate to, Expand all, Collapse all)

  • Language selection (Ability to choose the languages shown for the metafield)

  • Metafield tooltip (Display additional information per field via info icon)

Other improvements

Paging through assets

When clicking from the asset list to the asset preview page, it is now possible to navigate between assets, by using the navigation under the asset.

When applying a filter, the navigation will take this into account and show only the assets from the search results. Note: The navigation will be cleared on site refresh.

Retain page position when navigating back

When navigating from the asset list to the asset preview page and clicking the back button, the asset list automatically scrolls the previous position.

Change video thumbnail to custom image

The third option is now located under the tab “Custom image” when changing the thumbnail of a video. It provides the possibility of selecting an image asset from the library. Click 'Choose image' to select an image via the asset picker. It can now be saved as the new thumbnail.

Brandportal: Customisable colors, optional text shadow and removable image

The Edit layout panel has been updated. New options in the folder section allow users to customise the cover layout further.

Images selected on the herobanner or on an folder can be removed by clicking the more-button.

Filters: Expand and collapse all filters

The user now has the option to expand or collapse all filter by choosing the relevant action in the Options button. The state of the filters will be saved in the users' preferences and remembered for next visit.
