MM5.7 Comparison of assets

General information

Media Manager offers the possibility of comparing assets. In order to compare 2 or more assets that the user has marked, select "Compare" option from the multiselect menu in the top bar. A pop-up window with the selected assets will appear.

There are three methods of comparing assets:

  • metadata comparison

  • side by side comparison (split view)

  • content comparison (image slider).

Metadata comparison

With this method it is easy to compare metadata of multiple assets simultaneously. The selected assets are displayed at the top of the pop-up dialog with belonging metadata fields below.

It is possible to deselect the unwanted assets by clicking on the checkmark placed in the upper left corner of each asset.

The user can add more assets to the comparison pool by clicking ‘Add more assets’ in the top left corner of the dialog. This will redirect the user to the homepage, where new assets can be marked. To go back to the comparison dialog, navigate again to ‘Compare’ → ‘Metadata’.

In the line under asset thumbnails there are several options available dependent on the current selection:

  • ‘Highlight differences’ - a toggle button that enables viewing only the fields whose content differs from one another

  • ‘Show selected’ - after selecting at least 1 metadata field, this option hides all the other fields

  • ‘Clear selection’ - this options resets the comparison selection

When more than 3 assets are selected to compare, a slider appears, so the user can slide through all the selected assets or use the arrows on each side to navigate.
