Asset comparison (optimized)
As a result of the feedback that we received from our customers, the comparison tool has been optimized to make it more intuitive and better looking.
The first major change is the choice of the method of comparison. Rather than selecting the method in the pop-up window, the user can make this decision earlier, when working with the dropdown list of the multiselect menu. Thanks to this the user can save time by avoiding looking at the comparison types irrelevant for the task at hand. At the same time, the names of the methods were changed to make it more clear what they are meant to serve:
Metadata
Split view
Image slider
The other change concerns specifically the metadata comparison. Rather than having to switch between showing all metadata, showing selected metadata and showing the difference between metadata by selecting them from a dropdown list, the user can now switch between the views by clicking one of the new toggle buttons.
Iterative metadata
Iterative metadata in MM4:
Iterative metadata in MM5 (design):
Iterative metadata was a feature that used to be availble in Media Manager 4. As a result of customer demand it now makes a comeback in Media Manager 5.
The purpose of iterative metadata is to quickly provide information about a range of objects present in a picture without having to find separate assets that focus on these objects. It could for example concern different pieces of furniture in a room or different books on a shelf.
In Media Manager 5 the read-only iterative metadata is placed in the right-side panel (while in asset preview), separate from the metadata editor. This is because iterative metadata are treated the same way as related assets. In the future it might be possible to actually link the main images with the assets containing the related objects, if there will be demand for this kind of functionality.
The administrator can configure which information should be visible here from the DAM Center.
Splashscreen advanced editing
From the arrival of this update, the administrators of the system will have more options when it comes to the editing of text for the splashscreen. This gives more control over the appearance of the screen that greets the users. The following editing options are available:
bold text
italic text
underlined text
crossed out text
colored text
heading 1 and heading 2
left, center and right text alignment
ordered and unordered lists
links.
