MM 4.11.0
- Mathias Mattson (MHM)
Search parameters are now saved in the URL
This new feature makes sure that you'll be able to either send your exact search to a colleague and/or friend of your - making him receive the same assets on his or her computer, as yours. (Disclaimer: The recipient will not be able to see content that he or she doesn't have access to, to begin with)
You can also save the link for future use - if for example you have a search that contains everything you need on a daily basis, then it's now more easily accessible.
How to access it
Simply make a search, and copy the URL. Accessing the URL will make you or your recipient have the same content experience every time.
How it works
All your search parameters will be added to your URL.
How to configure it
There's nothing to configure - you'll automatically have the ability upon updating.
New default thumbnails
If something doesn't render a thumbnail (e.g. if you have uploaded a zip archive) it used to just show the same old generic "file" icon for every file. To improve this UX, we added some new default thumbnails to the program, so that you'll now more intuitively be able to determine if something is an archive, a sound bite or a spreadsheet.
How to access it
Find any file that doesn't generate a thumbnail. Meaning that you should find something that isn't either: An image (Adobe images like PSD included), video, PDF or PPTX
How it works
All assets now have more intuitive default thumbnails - like the ones shown in the image below:
How to configure it
You'll get this automatically.
Keywords in asset preview mode now prompts searches
As your Digizuite solutions pr. default have keywords, this metadata field is prime for finding material that consists of a lot of elements. Therefore, easy accessibility to assets that are related by keywords is key.
Therefore the new Media Manager has the new option to press keywords, which will automatically search for similar assets.
How to access it
Open any asset where a keyword has been defined. It should be a keyword that you've used rigorously throughout your content library.
Now simply press it. You'll now be shown all assets related to this particular keyword.
How to configure it
You'll get this feature by upgrading your Media Manager Solution.
The ability to move your image around in zoom mode
When zooming in the asset preview mode, you'll now be able to move around your image, thereby making it more accessible for noticing all the finer details of an image.
How to access it
When zooming click your cursor in an image, hold it and move it around. The image will now follow your cursor around.
How to configure it
There's nothing to configure - it simply works.
Sending out emails from the Media Manager now supports multiple lines
Historically, there hasn't been a need for having more complicated text in the emails you'd send out from the Media Manager. But with the bigger focus on interactivity with other people, communication is key. Therefore, we've added the possibility to further personalize the message sent out from the Media Manager, so that you can now make it more in tune to what your customers need.
How to access it
When sending out a mail, the message field now has the option to retain your line breaks.
How to configure it
There's nothing to configure - it comes out of the box.
You now have the option to personalize your content view
You used to only have the option to only use the "gallery" content view when accessing your Media Manager. Some liked the ulterior content view options better. Therefore from this version on, you now have the option to choose in what way your content is best presented to your users.
How to access it
When your content view has been personalized, you simply have to access your Media Manager.
How to configure it
To configure it, you need to access your DAM Center → System Tools → Config Manager → MM → Your version and then configure the config parameters.
In here you have to find the "Default asset view:" - in this you have the option to keep on using the default value, which is "Gallery", or to use the "list" or the "boxes" view. The latter mentioned are respectively a vertical list of your assets, and a more rigid alternative to the gallery view.
