DFE 1.0.0 - 4 Asset information
4.1 Quick asset information
While browsing the assets in the DAM for Episerver connector, the editor can quickly access a number of basic asset information without having to enter the focused preview.
In order to do this, the editor needs to click the "i" symbol right next to the asset-specific context menu. An "Asset info" window with a larger asset thumbnail, title, description and a few more asset details will appear on the left from the connector's pane. Clicking the "i" symbol again will close the window and the editor can go back to browsing the assets.
4.2 Metadata
There are two ways to access the complete metadata of an asset:
- by selecting "Edit" from the context menu next to the asset,
- by double-clicking the asset.
This will lead to the focused preview of the asset, where all the available metadata are displayed below the asset. The metadata are organized in different groups, reflecting the configuration in the DAM Center.
The majority of the visible metadata fields are read-only and the editor needs to follow the link to the Media Manager or access them from the DAM Center to edit them. A limited number of metadata fields can be edited in the DAM for Episerver. In order to change the content of the field, the editor needs to click on it, and the type in the new information after the outline turns green. The next step is to unmark the field, for example by clicking on the empty space next to it. A blue arrow that appears next to the "Publish" button above the asset indicates the unsaved changes. To save the changes, the editor needs to click on "Publish?", and then on "Publish Changes".
The metadata changes executed in the DAM for Episerver automatically get synchronized across the board of the Digizuite products.
4.3 Media Manager Url
The editor can make advantage of the wide selection of features offered by Digizuite's product family by following the link leading directly to an asset's location in the Media Manager. These features are among others the ability to edit all the metadata, viewing related assets and collaborating with other users.
The link to the asset's location in Media Manager 5 can be accessed both from the quick asset information box and from the the full metadata view in the focused asset preview.
Once the editor is re-directed to the Media Manager interface, the prompt to log in will appear. Once the username and password are input correctly, the editor will have access to all the features of the Media Manager that their user rights indicate.
