DC 5.10 Upgrade checklist

For new-installs, please refer to DC 5.10 Install checklist.

5.10.0-5.10.7

When upgrading to a version between 5.10.0 and 5.10.7 (both inclusive), the environment is automatically migrated to the new transcode system.

After having chosen the 5.10 configuration layers in Configuration Management, please export the following changes before applying the diff:

Update column:
- All member_group actions with download_quality diffs.
- The format.original action, if any. This is only present if the customer has a different download replace mask than [%AssetId%] configured.
Delete column:
- All format actions.

5.10.8 and above

When upgrading to version 5.10.8 or a newer patch version of 5.10, the environment is not automatically migrated to the new transcode system.

If the environment has already been upgraded to a version between 5.10.0 and 5.10.7, the environment has already been migrated to the new transcode system. When upgrading this environment, the environment will still use new transcode system. Please read DC 5.10 Formats - Migration | Environments that have been on 5.10.0 5.10.7 for things to be aware of in this case.

Add the default 5.10 layers as you normally would. Do not apply them yet. Please calculate the diff, and export the following changes:

Update column:
- The configservice_int_config_field.image_insert_quality and configservice_int_config_field.video_insert_quality actions.
- All format actions.
- All member_group actions with download_quality diffs.

Afterwards, calculate a diff again and apply.
The purpose of this is to ensure that the old transcode system is still used.

Failing to export the actions mentioned above will lead to the new transcode system being partly used.
