MM 6.1 AI Translation

Enable languages

For auto-translate to work, both the language you’re translating from and the language you’re translating to must be enabled.

  1. Open settings

  2. Click “System”

  3. Click “Languages”

  4. Add new language

  5. Search and select the language you wish to add

Once all languages are saved, they are available for auto-translating.

Enable auto-translation

  1. Open settings

  2. Click “System”

  3. Open “Metadata” and select a metadata group

  4. Click on the metadata field you wish to have auto-translated

  5. Set the field’s behavior to an AI translate option.

    1. None: Not AI. Disable auto-translate for the metafield (default)

    2. CreateIfMissing: Not AI. When a field is updated in another language, the text from the updated field is copied over (but not translated) if the language does not have a value.

    3. Overwrite: Not AI. All languages are represented in only one field. Whatever you write in it will be the same in all other system languages.

    4. AutotranslateCreateIfMissing: AI. When a field is updated in another language, if the language does not have a value, the text from the updated field is translated and saved in the language field.

    5. AutotranslateOverwrite: AI. When a field is updated in another language, the text from the updated field is translated and written to the field regardless of whether it already has a value.

Language Support

Be aware that not every language supports translation.

An example of this is Norwegian (Nynorsk), which is not supported.
