The Why
We had a Adobe CCC product already so why did we build one on our own?
First a bit of history:
Digizuite did a strategical move to re-write and -design the Media Manager to what is referred to as MM5.
The move also allowed writing of components to be re-used in multiple products. This greatly improves time-to-market because one can re-use, but also quality and brand consistency across touch points because it is the same code that is actually used.
It was showcased for Office Connector that was released (it was replacing an old office connector) for the benefit of all customers.
This is a similar move as the Office Connector where we simply write a whole new connector using those tools.
Why did we then make it?
Increased quality and stability
“old” connector (done by a partner) not living up to expectations for our brand in terms of UI/UX and the quality we needed in the functionality.
The partner had many customers so we were not able to differentiate ourselves positively from others.
Brand Consistency across touchpoints
We now have more brand consistency on all touchpoints by standardizing UI/UX. The Digizuite way and no confusion because we re-use our components from Media Manager and Office Connector.
More than what everyone else has
More functionality can be added without having to involve a parter. It is on Digizuite priority and terms that allows for more differentiation
