Explanation

Red warning (1)

Why one hits this state: The embedded item did not use to be an asset before being embedded.

Message in the system: ‘Local content is embedded, please unembed to use asset inside the link manager'.

The user needs to unembed the local asset before taking an action within the connector, e.g. upload the active document to the DAM.

Red warning (2)

Why one hits this state: The asset does not have files in the local cache (storage) and it’s not uploaded to the DAM.

Message in the system: 'Cannot find local content'.

The link to local content is broken and needs to be relinked through InDesign’s ‘Links’ panel before it is possible to take any action in the connector.

Available action: ‘Link to asset’

This action is only available on the individual link and the multi-selection bar

Red upload

Why one hits this state: The asset can no longer be found in the DAM system.

Message in the system: ‘The asset was deleted from the DAM'.

The asset is no longer in the DAM system and therefore cannot be relinked.

Available action: ‘Upload’

This action is only available if the original (source) quality still exists in your cache otherwise the link cannot be uploaded to the DAM on new.
