MM5.6 Major New Features

5.6.0

The latest edition of Digizuite’s Media Manager – version 5.6 – has officially been released.

This version of the Media Manager has updates that improve user experience and provide more brand control over the look and feel of your Media Manager for both internal and external users.

These features include the Digizuite brand portal, Collections enhancements, and changes to filtering within the Media Manager.

The Addition of the Brand Portal

This version of the Digizuite Media Manager introduces the brand portal – a feature of the platform that enables users to create different visual layouts of the Media Manager for different groups of users.

Each user interface created is a virtual space that contains a very specific collection of assets for assigned users. Each portal view can be created with a unique aesthetic. These views can also be branded to give users a more personalized experience with the DAM. Through different brand portal views, companies can showcase assets in ways that are most relevant to each individual user as they interact with the Media Manager.

In layman’s terms, if your Digizuite Digital Asset Management (DAM) solution were a machine, the brand portal allows that machine to run more smoothly and with a polished, customized look. It is a feature of the Digizuite DAM that enables enterprises to provide multi-brand experiences from one central hub.

Above is a brand portal configuration designed for users of the company Tonal Music (a musical equipment reseller). This particular portal was designed specifically to showcase assets related to the single brand, Yamaichi.

The brand portal is set up to create different schemes of Media Manager for different purposes. It is a branding tool that allows users to organize brand assets in one personalized location.

Customizable elements for each UI configuration include:

  • Hero banners (which can be created with any uploaded image in the Media Manager)

  • Font type

  • Logos

  • Theme colors

  • Fonts

  • Asset cards

  • Layout of folders and assets within folders

For ultimate ease-of-use, brand portal administrators can create new brand portal styles with one click of a button that is displayed on their Media Manager.

How does the brand portal create value for customers?

  • As an asset showroom: Each brand portal view functions as one place where users expressly see the assets they need based on campaign, product, brand. With tailored showrooms, users have a more pleasant, simpler experience working with digital assets – making content creation and distribution more straightforward. This leads to time savings and greater content efficiency.

  • As a multi-brand management tool: Umbrella organizations with multiple brands can set up a brand portal configuration for each brand. With these unique portal views, brand managers can establish better control over each brand. A dedicated space for each brand enables large, multi-brand companies to reinforce distinct brand messaging and visuals

  • As a campaign management tool: A brand portal view can be expressly designated to house all digital assets related to a marketing or promotional campaign. Here lives only the assets that are approved and needed for campaign-specific content. Campaigns can also be product or event specific (see below for the different folders/brand portals for the different brands, campaigns, etc. for Tonal Music).

  • As a brand guidelines portal: One use case is to turn a brand portal configuration into a space for brand assets – one centralized location for users to download the right fonts, logos, style guides, and so on. This eliminates inconsistencies in sales and marketing content distributed across multiple digital channels.

Above is an example of how the company, Tonal Music, leveraged brand portals to create a brand guidelines portal – one aesthetically pleasing, logical setup for users to access everything they need to properly represent a specific brand.

Changes to Collections

With Media Manager version 5.6, users will experience a whole new level of functionality with Collections. There is now the ability to create subcollections so that more specific, tailored groups of assets can be shared with different groups of people – namely, for external users.

Just like Collections, subcollections of assets can be set to expire at any given time so that there is a defined timeline for how long recipients have access to different groups of assets.

It is also now possible to customize the look and feel of collection for external users, and that will have expiration dates.

To share access to Collections, or a brand portal view based on Collections, users can set up and send a deep link to make it public to anyone.

Filter changes

The Media Manager version 5.6 contains far more convenient, efficient ways to filter digital assets.

Users of Media Manager 5.6 have the benefit of leveraging filters beyond Asset Type, Keywords, Upload Date, and through the Folders/Portal Menu. With new filter functionalities, administrators can reconfigure filters based on any metadata field – all without going through the re-indexing process.

All from the front-end layer of the Media Manager, administrators can customize the default filters that users see when they log into the system. As a result, administrators can change the filter structure whenever they see fit – without previous time constraints and complications. It is also possible to customize visible filters for guest users.
