CCC2.1 Digizuite Adobe Creative Cloud Connector overview

Registration of the product

In order to experience the full functionality of the Digizuite Adobe CC Connector, the user needs to obtain a license key and then register the product. If the product is not registered, the following message will appear upon opening InDesign/Photoshop/Illustrator:

The limited version of the product supports using only up to 3 unique assets in a document.

The user can register the product at a later time, by clicking the "Digizuite" tab at the top of the application window, and selecting "Activate".

The user can then input the license key in the following window:

Location of the Digizuite™ Adobe CC Connector in the Adobe CC interface

Digizuite Adobe CC Connector can be opened in one of the following ways:

  • in the start workspace: by clicking "Start" → "Advanced"
  • when any document is open: by clicking "Window" → "Extensions" → "Digizuite Adobe CC Connector"

Adobe CC Connector can be either docked to the side as any other toolbox in the Adobe CC environment or moved freely as an independent window.

Logging in/logging out

Logging in with Digizuite credentials:

Logging in using SSO credentials:

When the user opens a document in Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign, a login window for the connector should automatically appear.

If the user has closed the login window, or if it doesn't appear, the user should click the menu burger button in the upper right corner, and then select "Log In" to make the window re-appear.

When the login window appears, the user is presented with two login options:

  • 1. (Blue) Login directly using the Digizuite credentials, or
  • 2. (Green) Login using SSO

Logging in using the Digizuite credentials (Blue)

If the user chooses to log in using the Digizuite credentials, the following information need to be filled in:

  • API URL: The CCC's website - an example of this could be "https://ccc.mycompany.com". Whether the user appends a "/" at the end of the URL is redundant. Historically, the user had to add a "/dmm3bwsv3" suffix, however this is not needed anymore.
  • Username: Digizuite username
  • Password: Digizuite password.

Now the user needs to simply click the "Login" button or use the Enter key.

Logging in using the SSO credentials (Green)

The user needs to fill in the API URL - the same one as they would use in "Logging in using the Digizuite credentials". however, this information need to be placed in the area marked in green in the screenshot above.

Once the user has provided the API URL, they need to click the "Log In With SSO" button. The user should not press the Enter key, as it will simply close the prompt (logging in using your Digizuite credentials will be attempted instead).

If the user fills out the API URL with an invalid link - or the site is currently down, no feedback from the login prompt will be received.

Moreover, the user should be aware that in some instances it is necessary to click the "Log In With SSO" button twice: the first time for logging in to SSO in the browser, and the second time, for logging in in the connector itself.

If an issue arises due to another person having used the same computer (meaning that their SSO user is logged in on the browser), this can be amended by clearing up the cookies and then clearing the sessions. In Chrome this can be done by:

  • pressing ctrl+shift+delete in order to clear the last hour and/or,
  • pressing F12, going to "Application" and clearing the cookies.

This will open a new panel, where the user can enable or disable options related to work with InDesign, asset download, asset view and troubleshooting.

InDesign Place Options

This option allows the user to quickly place images from the connector in placeholders or replace images previously existing on the canvas.

Replace selection on placeEffect
The option is enabledIf the user selects either an image on the canvas or an image placeholder, dragging and dropping a new image from the connector onto any spot in the working area will automatically replace the selection.
The option is disabledDragging and dropping a new image from the connector on any spot in the working area will always place it on that spot. Previously selecting another image or a placeholder will have no effect.

The second set of options concerns the download functionality.
