Version (Adobe plugin)

Things to be aware of

2.0.0

You need to install "CCC Backend 2.0.0 (48)" in addition to the new plugin. (See the entry for the backend files in the table below - as there are also things here that you need to take into account)

You need to manually set the "Portal Menu" in config manager for folders to work.

Known issues:

The the asset displayed as being the "first" or "highest" in any given search, is actually always the last one. I you upload 5 assets, their ordering would be 1 - 5 - 4 - 3 - 2. Loading more will result in it saying 1 - 10 - 9 - 8 - 7...

Changing backend DAM Centers is still unsupported, and requires that you restart your Adobe program.

Uploading non-CCC-supported files, will result in it saying "Uploading" forever. (e.g. PDF, video)

Replace in DC will still remove the publishing by default.

Long sort times. For every "load more" (+25 assets) you do, you'll get an additional ~15 seconds of sort time. (0-25 assets = 4 sec | 25-50 = 15 sec | 50-75 = 30 sec) e.g. 51 assets will take ~30 seconds to load

First time you search for something, and don't get a result, you'll get an "Error". Afterwards, the message is correct.

1.0.14

Due to a DC bug, replaced assets doesn't always prompt the "update links" dialog

Photoshop can import AI files, but an error will occur

The CCC proxy site must not be http

Known issues (and unfulfilled feature requests)

Dragging in INDD issues

Low-res to high-res issues

Install (You need to know this before installing)

Due to a bunch of issues with the 1.0.12 implementation, it's not recommended to install this version - especially not on customer's systems, as they will encounter annoying issues.

Here's a list of things that have been fixed as of 1.0.13 that still are in 1.0.12:

https://basecamp.com/2748089/projects/14380370/todos/345787539 Replacing assets will make the ID stamps on the file be included in the asset (Validated - the issue could not always be reproduced)

Version (Satellite)

Things to be aware of

2.0.0 (48)

Install (You need to know this before installing)

You must install MM on the site as well, as you won't be able to upload without it. Possibly, there can be other things wrong as well, by not installing MM.

You must define a tree structure to become your folders (Media Manager Menu)

You should change the high-res from JPG Big Preview (10028) to Source copy (10061)

In config manager, you also need to add the "/" to the API URL (See the troubleshooting guide for more info)

Update (You need to know this before updating)

Updating to this version has for one customer (Vestel) been the thing that fixed a problem with their (version ~30) backend files. Without 2.0.0, they couldn't drag and drop. (Usually this is caused by the API URL missing the / - but not in this case)

You can just go ahead and update from an older version - it'll work still. (Remember to update the web site files)

Install (You need to know this before installing)

The config manager does not have sane defaults

Update (You need to know this before updating)

Thumbnails can go missing when you update from 26 to 29. Most likely this is an issue with 29:  CCC-148 - Getting issue details... STATUS  There are missing metadata fields in the CCC's config

26 and every version before it

Install (You need to know this before installing)

The config manager does not have sane defaults

If you have installed scripts from a pre 29 version, please run the 29 scripts or newer. If this isn't done, DAM Centers that started out as either version 4.9.0, 4.9.1, and possibly 4.8.0 will not work upon logging into the DACCC (cannot access content through the DACCC module).

Official recommendation for installing, updating, and uninstalling

https://basecamp.com/2748089/projects/14380370/messages/80722640#comment_651479152

Updating

For both Windows and Mac, you simply have to run the exe file, and follow the guide. It will automatically handle everything from here.

I.e. you don't ever need to manually uninstall and then reinstall.

Uninstalling

To be added

How licensing works

Before uninstalling an activated Connector, you must deactivate via the Digizuite->Deactivate menu.

If you forget to deactivate before uninstalling, the Partner Portal possibly will allow Digizuite to free up the activation.

Otherwise, Silicon is able to deactivate an orphaned activation.

Troubleshooting

Cannot drag in images to InDesign, but their thumbnails are visible

The way to fix this, is to go into the CCC's config manager, and validate that the URL specified in there is https (The CCC proxy site must not be http) and that it has a "/" appended to the end of it (The config manager does not have sane defaults)

Now it should work for you (You may have to log out and in again for it to work) (This was used to fix JLG on )

(If you cannot upload with Backend 30 I think it was 30 + 1.0.14 plugin, and you see the error message from this issue https://basecamp.com/2748089/projects/14380370/messages/75204372#comment_595285825 which was fixed in 1.0.12 - then updating to 2.0.0 in the backend - the frontend has nothing to do with this - is the only ay)

You cannot see any thumbnails + you cannot upload

You should install MM on the site

MM needs to be installed in order for CCC's assets to get thumbnails  CCC-150 - Getting issue details... STATUS  (You cannot see any thumbnails)

CCC-190 - Getting issue details... STATUS  (you cannot upload)

Other

Only avaialble for DC >= 4.6

(stub) : Issue: handling non-USASCII characters in filenames when downloading files via the DACCC

(document action: who will continue with this document ??)

When making the DACCC available for customers, and they want to be able to use  assets with filenames having non-USACII characters (like æ,ø,å), they need to have a fix applied on their DAM.
