DC 4.10.0 - 3.4 Catalog Area (Repository)
- Magnus Frank
The catalog area serves as the main repository in the Digizuite™ DAM Center, and can be accessed with all users that have access to it. Usually it will only be users in the groups Administrator and Super Administrator that will be able to access this area.
In the catalog area, there can only be one entry for an uploaded file, whereas there can be multiple in the channel area.
For both the catalog area and channel area, you're able to create, rename and delete subfolders. (See image below)
- You can create subfolders by right clicking the folder, you want your subfolder to be placed beneath, and pressing the "Add folder" option.
- To rename the folder, you choose the "Rename folder" and type in the name you'd like the folder to have.
- To delete the folder, you simply press "Delete folder", and accept the following prompts
When you delete an asset from the catalog area, the asset will be deleted and unpublished entirely from the DAM Center. The files will still be available in your storage area (usually a shared UNC named \\Storage...), but will have to be reuploaded to get back into the DAM Center.
If you have the cleanup plugin running, then the files might have been moved to your designated cleanup folder, and should be reuploaded from there.
Deleting a folder from inside the channel area will NOT delete the asset from the catalog area, but simply unpublish it from the channel folder you're currently in.
