1.1 Sitecore versions supported

Digizuite™ DAM for Sitecore is developed and tested with the following versions of Sitecore.

  • Sitecore Experience Platform 8.0 Service pack 1 (Sitecore 8.0 rev. 160115)
  • Sitecore Experience Platform 8.1 Update 3 (Sitecore 8.1 rev. 160302)
  • Sitecore Experience Platform 8.2 Update 2 (Sitecore 8.2 rev. 161221)

Any prior versions are not supported when running DAM for Sitecore version 8.0.1.

Some newer versions of Sitecore might be working without problems, but it is recommended to verify this with Digizuite.

1.2 Requirements, files and folders

Before installing, ensure the user that is installing has modify access to the following folders and files in the Sitecore web root:

  • Sitecore 8.x
  • \App_Config\include
  • \App_Data\
  • \bin\
  • \sitecore\shell\client
  • \Sitecore modules\shell\

1.3 Requirements

Version 8.0.0 of DAM for Sitecore requires a Digizuite™ version 4.6.0 or higher in order to run.

Furthermore, verify the following before running the module:

  • Digizuite™ DAM for Sitecore stores a cached version of all image assets locally and hence Digizuite™ DAM for Sitecore needs write access to the \App_Data\ folder. (Sitecore installations have access to this folder by default).
  • Enable the configuration file Sitecore.ContentSearch.Lucene.DefaultIndexConfiguration.config, located in Sitecore Website folder \App_Config\include. This has to be done, despite the Sitecore installation running Solr as default search engine. To enable the file it mustn't have the extension .example or .disabled.

1.4 Installation

Digizuite™ DAM for Sitecore is installed as a normal Sitecore package. Start Sitecore in Desktop mode and find the Install Wizard under Development Tools. Click on Upload Package and find the file containing the DAM for Sitecore zip file delivered.

Verify that the package is the one to install and click Install.

If asked to overwrite files, say Yes or Yes to all to overwrite the files. It means that Digizuite™ DAM for Sitecore is already installed on your Sitecore installation:

If you are asked to overwrite items, it means that the module is already installed on your system. It is not recommended to upgrade an existing installation of Digizuite™ DAM for Sitecore 8 by following this guide, unless one is aware of the changes applied.

To apply a clean installation, choose Overwrite. Otherwise, choose Skip and select Apply or Apply to all.
