From version 5.1.0, in order to edit a metadata field, the user can click anywhere on the field, and then start typing or make a selection immediately, without having to click once again.

Types of metadata fields

According to the criterion of editability, there are three types of metadata fields:

In some cases the system validates whether the correct format of input has been used. If the input value has incorrect format and the user tries to save the changes, the "Save" button will turn red and the message "Error while saving metadata" will appear at the botton bottom of the page. Metadata fields can have different language versions. If more languages are set up in the DAM Center, the user will see an arrow symbol next to a metadata field. Clicking it will open input fields for all the available languages:

Pinned metadata

It is possible to pin favorite metadata fields to the top of the metadata editor.

When the user hovers the mouse pointer over the name of a metadata field, a greyed out 'Pin' symbol appears next to it with the explanation 'Pin to top'.

Clicking the pin will result in the metadata field being duplicated in a metadata group 'Pinned metadata' located at the top of the page. The group is only visible, if there exists at least 1 pinned metadata field.

In order to remove the field from the pinned metadata, the user needs to hover again over the name of the metadata field and click on the colored pin. The field will be unpinned.
