This describes the process of installing the DigiBatch engine. Installing the DigiBatch system is a process that can only should be done once before the Digizuite™ DAM Center has been successfully is installed. If the DigiBatch engine is not installed, the Digizuite will not function as intended.

3.1 Install 3rd party programs

Install the two required 3rd party programs from the #installsource#\DigiBatch\Support directory. 

Note: #installsource# refers to the path where the install source is located on your system.

Right click both the installer files and select Run As Administrator and select the setup defaults:
  • Imagemagick,
    • ImageMagick-6.8.8-1-Q16-x64-dll.exe (64 Bit Systems)
    • ImageMagick-6.8.8-1-Q16-x84-dll.exe (32 Bit Systems)
  • Ghostscript
    • gs910w64.exe (64 Bit Systems)
    • gs910w32.exe (32 Bit Systems)

When you have completed the installation of ImageMagick and Ghostscript, go to the folder where you installed ImageMagick (e.g. D:\Program Files\ImageMagick-6.8.7-Q16)
Here you need to:

  • Delete ffmpeg.exe
  • Edit delegates.xml
    • Remove the line starting with <delegate decode="mpeg:decode"
    • Remove the line starting with <delegate encode="mpeg:encode"
      • Note: Default line numbers are: 84 (decode) and 117 (encode)

3.2 Install the Job system – DigiBatch

To install the job Note: If DigiBatch version 2.x is already installed, it needs to be removed, refer to removal instructions: 4 Remove old version of BatchSystem - DAM 4.6.1

Note: if upgrading to a version that matches on 3 version levels, the previous version needs to be uninstalled first. eg. 3.0.1.123 to 3.0.1.234

Note: DigiBatch needs to use the same version across all Batch Servers that share a Job Database.

3.1 Prerequisites

The batch System requires that Microsoft.NET Framework 4.6.2. is installed on the Server.

3.2 Configure users

If the DamCenter is installed on multiple servers, the BatchSystem needs to run as a user with sufficient rights to handle files, this user is referred to as the Batch User or System User.

3.3 Install Batch

To install the batch system, go to the #installsource#\DigiBatch \ directory, and run the ReInstallDigiBatch.exe installer as an administrator.Note: To run ReInstallDigiBatch.exe as an administrator, right-click it and select Run as Administrator from the list.Wait for the installer to complete installing the DigiBatch Services and Job Packets. When the installation has completed we need to retrieve and enter the license information for DigiBatch.Go into Services and stop the two services DigiBatch Service and DigiBatch Submit Service.

Note: To stop a service, right click it and select stop from the list.

Image RemovedChange the credentials for DigiBatch Service right clicking it and selecting Properties and Log On. Change the radio button to this account and press Browser. From here, write the DigiBatch's username and press OK. Now write the DigiBatch's password in the fields Password and Confirm password. Now press OK.Go to #install directory#\DigiEyeZ\DigiBatch Service_ (e.g. _C:\Program Files\DigiEyeZ\DigiBatch Service) and run the file DigiBatchConfig.exe.

Note: #install directory# is the directory where you have chosen the DigiEyeZ folder to be placed. By default it can be found inside Program Files folder.

Go to The Configure DigiBatch program and from the Settings tab, copy the ChallengeKey value and send it via e-mail to support@digizuite.com, to request a DigiBatch server license. When you have received the corresponding license key, paste it into the License Key field and press Register.Image RemovedNow we need to tell the system that we want this machine to work on the jobs from our DMM database. On the Connections tab select the name of the DAM Jobs Database from the Handle dropdown and press Add to JobEnginesBoth the DAM Database (#damdatabase#) and the Job System Database (#jobdatabase#) must be available from the Handle dropdown. If not, please add the connections by clicking the Edit Connection button and follow the steps to create the two connections (login with respectively admin_#damdatabase# and admin_#jobdatabase# users (and passwords).Image RemovedNow we need to assign the Job processor to the system.Select the Active JobEngines tab, select both the only Active JobEngines and JobProcessor and press Enroll.

Final configuration step is to assign what jobs the Job processor must process.Select the Active Jobs tab, and make sure that the Job Databases and Job Processors combination are selected. Mark all Jobs with ID >10000 Image RemovedTip: Expand the window to maximum and right-click the package name (e.g. DigiEyeZ.DigiBatch.DigiExiftoolJobs (1 Item)) and select "Select All, Machine name" to select all within that package:Image RemovedNow start the Batch Services by pressing the Start All button, and then close the dialog.

3.3 Installation of optional DigiBatch utility

Installation of the DigiBatch Viewer is optional. The Viewer is a tool to view and monitor the flow of the jobs being processed.

Start the installer by executing the DigibatchViewer_setup.exe as an administrator (right-click and select Run as Administrator) from the #installsource#\DigiBatch Total Build…\Utility directory.After installation, start the program from Start →  Apps →  DigiEyez →  DigiBatchViewer{_}Go to Files →  Connections and pick your job database. Now you will be able to monitor the job system 

  • Launch DigiBatch_Setup.exe elevated

Note: ImageMagick and GhostScript installers, located in the installation folder, are automatically installed by the DigiBatch_Setup installer.
