Home screen and log in

The first time you open the generic Digizuite Mobile app, you will be presented with a screen, where you have to input the URL for your DAM Center. Once you tap OK button in the upper right corner, the app will connect to your selected environment.

The next step is to provide the username and password and tapping Log in or logging in through SSO.

Once you are connected and logged in, you can see the same folders as in your Media Manager in the center of the screen. Underneath them you can find are all the available assets.

In the upper right corner there is a Log in/Log out button (dependent on your status), and in the upper left corner – menu. The triple line symbol in the upper left corner of the app (the menu) allows you to toggle between the main screen (Archive), the list of assets saved for offline viewing (Offline), the list of favorite assets (Favorites) and all you personal and shared collections (Collections).

At the bottom of the screen you can find, from left to right: Home redirect, Search function, upload, Notification Centre and Settings.

Tapping the Home icon in the lower left corner will always redirect you back to the main screen.

In the settings section you can log in and log out, the option to change the language of asset information, information about open source libraries as well as the app version information.

Folders

Your assets are sorted into the same folders as in your Media Manager. In the first version of Digizuite™ Mobile this is the only method of filtering the assets.

You can easily move back and forth between the folders by tapping the chosen folders and the back arrow. You can also immediately go back to the main screen by tapping the Home button.

Assets

Below the folders you can find your assets. Simply scroll down for more assets to load. To go back up you can either scroll up or tap the Home icon to immediately go back to the top.

Under each asset you can see two symbols. The star allows you to add the asset to your favorites. Tapping the three dots gives you access to more functions: saving the asset offline/removing it from offline storage or sharing it.

Under the symbols you can see the title, beginning of the description and the format of your asset.

Tapping the asset gives you access to the same functions, and additionally to the metadata. By tapping the asset second time you can preview it, as well as zoom in and zoom out to get a better look at the details.

Free-text search

After tapping the magnifier icon, the search screen will open. As you type in your keywords, the number of found assets will change as the search happens in real time.

Here you can also see the history of your recent searches. If you do not wish to see the search history, you can delete it by tapping Clear.

Filters

The filter button is located at bottom center of the main screen. After tapping it, all the available filter will open. Just like in Media Manager, they can be expanded to show the values and collapsed for better visual clarity. You can now apply one or several filters. After making the selection, tap the button at the bottom of the screen, showing asset counter.

In order to remove the filters, tap the Filters button again. In order to remove just one filter, tap Clear all next to it. In order to remove all the filters at once, tap Clear in the upper right corner of the screen. Finally, tap the asset counter button on the bottom of the screen to go back to the home screen.

If any filters are active, the free-text search functionality will limit the results to the assets with those filters.

Favorites

You can add an asset to favorites by tapping the star symbol under it. The star will fill up with color appropriate to the color scheme. It is something you can access both from the main screen and asset preview.

You remove the asset from favorites in the same way: tap the star under the asset and it will lose its filling.

The tab with your favorite assets can be accessed by tapping the menu icon in the upper left corner.

Offline storage

You can save your assets for offline viewing in two ways:

  • Main screen view: tap the three dots under the asset and select Save offline. A phone icon will appear under the asset when the download is finished and you will receive a notification.
  • Asset preview: tap the Save offline toggle button. It will turn green once the download is finished.

You can remove the asset from offline view by reversing the above steps.

The tab with the assets available for offline use can be accessed by tapping the menu icon in the upper left corner.

The downloaded items can only be accessed through the app. The reason behind this solution is the concern for safety of the internal assets.

Sharing

Before you can share an asset, you need to download it for offline viewing (see: "Offline storage" section). After performing this step, you can share the asset through all the channels available on your mobile device, e.g. by e-mail.

Upload

It is possible to upload new asset to the systems from the Digizuite™ Mobile app.

The upload button is located at the bottom of the screen. Tap the the "+" symbol, located between search function and the Notification Center. Now you can choose between one of the following options:

OptionDescription
Capture photoSelecting this option will prompt your default camera to activate. Once you take a photo, you can either retry or tap OK, if you are satisfied with the result.
Capture videoSelecting this option will prompt your default video recorder to activate. Once you make a recording, you can either preview the video, retry or tap OK, if you are satisfied with the result.

You can only select one file at a time.

Regardless of the selection method, once you select your file, a new screen will appear, in which you need to fill in the title and description. Now tap Save, and the upload process will be initiated.

Once the upload is complete, you will receive a new notification in your Notification Center.

Collections

It is possible to add assets to collections in the Digizuite™ Mobile app as well as access the same collections-related options as in your Media Manager.

In order to add an asset to a collection, find the desired asset and tap Save in Collection option from the action list.

The tab with your personal collections and shared collections can be accessed by tapping the menu icon in the upper left corner.

After tapping Collections, a new screen will appear. It contains the following elements:

  • The New button in the upper right corner which you can tap in order to create a new collection,
  • The number of available collections,
  • The list of the collections.

You have the following actions at your disposal:

  • Viewing the contents of the collection
  • Sharing a collection
  • Renaming a collection
  • Deleting a collection
  • Removing a single item from the collection.

Notification Centre

Just like in Media Manager 5, certain actions performed in the Digizuite™ Mobile app will trigger not only the standard pop-up notifications (that can be either enabled or disabled like in any other application installed on your device), but also the internal notifications.

The Notification Center is located at the bottom of the screen, marked with a "bell" symbol. If you have unread notifications, their number will be indicated in a red circle on top of the button, otherwise the button will appear clear.

Once you tap the button, you will be able to see the recent notifications. The unread notifications will be marked in bold text. To clear them, tap the triple dot symbol in the upper right corner of the screen and select the option Mark all as read.

At the moment you will receive notifications when the process of uploading assets from your device is finished.
