Automation workflows: enhancements

DC_jobstatus_530.mp4

First of all, some of the steps in the workflows, as well as general performance, were improved in version 5.3.0.

Secondly, advanced logging was introduced in order to assist with effective identification of problems.

Job status area was enhanced by adding several filtering options (to be expanded in the future versions). Administrative users can now find workflows based on:

  • workflow name

  • status of the workflow

  • affected assets

  • affected users and user groups

  • affected metadata fields.

The most significant change here is the added ability of asset tracking. The users can now see which assets were affected by particular workflows (available under Details). An example of application of this new functionality is filtering for errored workflows in order to quickly access information about which assets were affected. Thanks to this, the administrators of the system can now identify and address the problems in a more efficient manner.

Improved performance

Until now some of the customers with large environments (100k+ assets) experienced performance instability when working with DAM Center. Version 5.3.0 focuses heavily on significantly improving the situation. Logging in, expanding folders, loading the assets and their metadata is now nearly instantenous, even when a substantial amount of data is involved and several users are logged in at the same time.

These improvements have been achieved through the following changes:

  • ItemSecurity checks were optimized for folders, metadata and initial load of DC

  • Solr implementation was optimized thanks to, among others, updating the service and applying new update index strategies.

  • No labels
