This page contains a description of how to configure the DAM Center to allow users to share assets and collections from MM5.
11.1 Creating a Facebook Developer Account
If you already have a Facebook Developer Account, which can be used to make the configuration, you can skip to section 11.2.
If you don't have a Facebook Developer Account, please do the following:
- Make sure that you are not logged in with a Facebook account, which you don't want to use for the configuration.
- Open a browser and navigate to: https://developers.facebook.com/
- Press "Get Started".
- Create a new account or log in with the account, you want to use.
- If you are prompted for your role, select "Developer".
11.2 Getting an App ID
When you are logged in with a Facebook Developer Account, navigate to https://developers.facebook.com/.
Then do the following:
- Create a new app in the menu in the top right corner.
- Give your application a name and press "Create App ID" (e.g. "Digizuite Media Manager 5")
- Go to "Settings" in the left-hand menu and select "Basic".
- Go to the bottom of the page and press "Add Platform"
- Select "Website"
- In the field "Site URL" type in the base URL of the Media Manager 5 you want to enable Facebook sharing for.
- Go to the top of the page and type in the same URL as in 6. in the field "App Domains".
- Type in "https://www.digizuite.com/privacypolicy" in the "Privacy Policy URL" field.
- Press "Save Changes
- Press the "OFF" button at the top, select an arbitrary category, and press "Confirm".
- Click the "APP ID" at the top of the screen, which copies the APP ID.
11.3 Configuring the DAM Center
- Navigate to the DAM Center being used.
- Find the configs file for the MM5 installation that is being configured.
- Paste the copied APP ID into the config field "Facebook App ID"
- Save the changes.
Users will now be able to share assets and collections from the given MM5 installation.
