Major new features in MM 5.2.0

Asset comparison

With this feature the users can compare 2 or more assets according to their visual differences and metadata. There are 3 types of comparison:

  1. Metadata comparison, where the user can view similarities and differences between all available metadata fields on the freely chosen number of assets. This type of comparison allows the user to quickly check for, among others, missing metadata, incorrect tagging and the need for any kind of changes.

  2. Content comparison, where the user can view 2 assets of any type side by side. This function can be especially useful for any kind of documents such as PDF files and MS Word files. The user can scroll through both documents side by side, and easily spot the differences.

  3. Side by side comparison, where the user can view 2 overlapping images. This type of comparison allows the user to quickly spot the visual differences between 2 images. This can be used, for example, for selecting the correct version of an image for social channel, campaign or website.

Saved searches

This functionality allows the users to save the search results with an easily accessible button in order to work with them at a later point in time. The search results can be obtained by such methods as free-text search, filters and folders. The saved searches can be renamed, shared with other users and deleted at will.

Unlike ordinary collections, saved searches work as dynamic collections. This means that what is saved in such a compilation is not so much specific assets as a set of search criteria. When the user accesses a saved search at a later time, the system applies these criteria afresh and returns the assets that meet them. In other words, the selection of assets inside a saved search is changing dynamically.

Advanced search

So far the free-text search returned only assets as results. From now on the user can search for collections and folders as well, using the same searchbox. The search preview box now shows:

  • top asset results, together with a larger preview, quick asset information and a number of available actions,

  • collections, together with the preview of their contents and a number of available actions,

  • folders and subfolders, together with the preview of their contents and a number of available actions.

If the user wants to access the contents of a collection or a folder/subfolder and remembers the name, it is now possible to achieve that faster with the use of the searchbox. In other words, the function saves the precious time of the user with the ability of reach known to self collections and folders with fewer clicks. It can be especially valuable for the users who work with a large number of collections and for those who navigate in systems with a deep folder structure.

Filter customization

The users can now adjust the filter pane to their own everyday needs. It is possible to customize the filters by changing the sorting of values within individual filters, making some filters hidden while others visible as well as changing the order of the filters.

No matter what is the system configuration of the filters, the users can now adjust it within Media Manager so that they can work with them in most convenient way. The users can now place favorite filters at the top of the list, hide the unused filters and sort the values in most logical to self way - all without affecting the filter experience of other users. The feature is especially valuable for the users who work in systems with a large number of filters.

Download assets with metadata

From now on it is possible to download not only assets in a variety of qualities, but their metadata as well. There are now 3 download possibilities:

  • only assets,

  • only metadata,

  • assets with metadata.

The users can easily select which metadata fields should be exported to an Excel file in a new pop-up window - a feature requested by many of our customers. When the user chooses to download both assets and their metadata, selection of qualities and metafields takes places in one place and makes the process fast.

Cognitive Services

So far it has been possible to generate AI keywords for images in Media Manager with just 1 click. The array of the available Cognitive Services that Media Manager can integrate with is now expanded with the following:

  • AI detection of explicit content

  • AI landmark detection

  • AI description generation

  • AI facial recognition

  • AI video transcript.

The user can now receive help with interpreting the content of the assets and tagging them from intelligent algorithms. It covers such areas as speech to text interpretation and content moderation. In other words, the user can now save time while editing metadata, especially in case of time-consuming tasks such as creating transcripts of videos uploaded to Media Manager.

Select all / Select visible

The users who want want to quickly select a larger number of assets have now 2 options. The first one is selecting all the assets, no matter if those are all the assets in the system, contents of a subfolder or results of a free-text search. The second option is selecting all the assets visible on the page. This functionality gives the users more flexibility during the first step in the process of working with multiple assets.
