Usernames for standard users no longer contains spaces

When making a new installation of the DC, the standard users no longer contains spaces. Note however, if you're updating your way to 4.9.0, your users will not change.

The following user names have changed:

  • Super Administrator → SuperAdministrator
  • Content Creator → ContentCreator
  • Light User → LightUser
  • Collection Template → CollectionTemplate
  • DAM Guest → DAMGuest


Obsolete event: MediaTranscodeProxyDestination Updated

As part of the ongoing work to improve the underlying datalayer, a digimonitor event has been deemed obsolete and removed. The event was "MediaTranscodeProxyDestination Updated". When in need of a workflow that should trigger when media transcodes are done use "Asset ProfilePublished".


Ability to search for less than three characters in Config Manager

ConfigManager's combo boxes will now search from the first typed character.

How to access it

  1. Go to the System tools
  2. Choose your product version
  3. Select a drop-down with a text field, you can input text in
  4. Type a single charachter

Metadata overwrite/keep options during upload versioning is now more explanatory

The text "Keep metadata" has been replaced by the text "Keep the old version's metadata".

How to access it

Re-upload an existing asset.  The text is displayed in the view, where you decide how to handle the new file.

The "Replace with" option now has a default value

The default value of the drop-down was previously empty.

How to access it

Re-upload an existing asset.  The drop-down(s) are located in the column with the header "Replace with".

Get the functionality to see license holder serial number from within DAM

The License area in Digizuite now display the license holder serial number

How to access it

Go to the License area in System tools.

Ask user if they REALLY want to delete the entire row

When a user decides to delete a row, which represents more than one element, they are now asked if they are sure.

It was introduced because deleting a row may have unintended consequences.

How to access it

  1. Go to the System tools
  2. Expand the Config Manager tree
  3. Select your product version
  4. Select the "Searches" tab
  5. Select your search
  6. Delete a row representing more than one element

Database ConnectionStrings moved from Registry to main site Web.Config 

Database ConnectionStrings are now stored in websites main Web.Config, and DigiMonitor App.Config files.


Search2 UI: Add the returnType URL

The return type "URL" has been added to the Search2 UI.

The "URL" return type helps clients to determine how a part of a search's result should be displayed. Adding this return type to a an Output element will make the Media Manager display it as a clickable link.

How to access it

  1. Go to the System tools
  2. Expand the Config Manager tree
  3. Select your product version
  4. Select the "Searches" tab
  5. Select your search
  6. Go to the Output tab
  7. Select an element
  8. Add the new return type

Missing logging in DAM Center's Installer

All exceptions are now logged to a log file. This greatly helps figuring out what is wrong if the installer does not work as expected.

Spelling mistake in English formats: Frequency

The label was now has correct spelling.

How to access it

  1. Go to the System tools
  2. Choose Formats
  3. Pick any format
  4. Expand the right-hand side details view
  5. Scroll down the view

You can have the same email on multiple users

The DAM Center now prevents you from adding the same email to 2 several users.

How to access it

  1. Go to the System tools
  2. Expand Users and groups
  3. Expand Users
  4. Select a user group
  5. Add an email to a user
  6. Add the same email to another user

You cannot add more than one label at the time in the Config Manager

You can now add more than one label before pressing Save.

How to access it

  1. Go to the System tools
  2. Expand the Config Manager tree
  3. Select your product version
  4. Select the "Labels" tab
  5. Select a folder
  6. Add multiple labels before saving

Folders don't support names with < in them
