General requirements:

  1. The Digizuite™ Office Connector 2.0 (from now on "OC") requires OC 5.1.1, DC 5.1.1 and MM 5.1.1 as a minimum.
  2. If SSO is to be used with the OC, the site must be installed as an https site. It is generally strongly recommended to use https when using the Office Connector.
  3. The OC has some issues on Mac. Specifically, this relates to opening existing documents from Digizuite™ Media Manager 5 or the OC. The issues are caused by some issues with Microsoft's Office URI Scheme on Mac, which will hopefully be fixed in the future. Until then, full functionality of the OC on Mac is not guaranteed.

Deployment requirements:

The preferred way of deploying the OC is Centralized Deployment. To be able to deploy the OC this way, the following requirements must be met:

  1. All users must use Office 365 ProPlus and be signed into in to Office using their Organizational ID.
  2. Windows users must use version 1704 or later of Office 365 ProPlus
  3. Mac users must use version 15.34 or later of Office 365 ProPlus.

A more detailed description of the requirements , and a description of how to check whether the requirements are met , can be found at: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/admin/manage/centralized-deployment-of-add-ins?view=o365-worldwide.

If It is possible to deploy the OC without an Office 365 ProPlus subscription isn't available, it is instead possible to publish the add-in to an app catalog with an on-premises SharePoint Server. However, using this option has two major drawbacks:

  1. The OC will not be available to Mac users.
  2. It is not possible to get a specialized ribbon for the add-in (the ribbon can be seen at Digizuite™ Office Connector 2.0 - 1. Installation and Configuration Guide). This makes it less convenient for users to open the OC.

Note that the OC . However, note that the OC does not fully support Office 2016 and earlier versions. Thus, deploying the OC to an app catalog with an on-premises SharePoint Server should only be considered The OC should therefore only be deployed for Office 2019 and later.

Please note that installing the OC for all users in an organization will be a bit more cumbersome if an Office 365 ProPlus subscription isn't available
