Broken Cache
After the upgrade from 5.7 to 5.8, you can experience the following UI seen below.
...
If you encounter this error, then the way to resolve this is to delete your cache folder.
The default cache location can be found under Documents → digizuite_files.
If you have changed your cache location, then you can locate the location from the digizuite_preferences.json located at Documents → digizuite_files → digizuite_preferences.json
Broken functionality after migration/upgrade
After a migration/upgrade to a newer version of the CCC application installed as part of the Media Manager, CCC functionality can malfunction. For example, the insert button is missing, and even after you save the active document, you are still told to save the active document before you can upload or access the Link Manager.
This happens because Adobe caches the CCC plugin code, which refers partly to the new UI, while the application cannot communicate with the underlying CEP engine used to interact with Adobe APIs.
To fix this error, first close the Adobe product.
Then locate the “cep_cache“ folder on your computer:
Windows - C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Temp\cep_cache
On MacOS, it can be placed in two locations depending on the version:
MacOS (1) - /Users/<USERNAME>/Library/Caches/CSXS/cep_cache
MacOS (2) - /Users/<USERNAME>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEP/extensions/CSXS
Then, simply delete all the folders related to the Adobe application if the issue occurs.
This will run the CCC plugin in a clean state

Note: The specific Adobe product can be really slow to start up the first time after this since all the cached content was just deleted |
