In order to retrieve the metadata for the silo item, you have to call a pipeline called: DFS.GetAssetMetadata .GetAssetMetadata
See example below. The GetAssetMetadataArgs takes AssetItemId which is of type Sitecore.Data.ID and ContextLanguage is of type Sitecore.Globalization.Language.
