Broken functionality after migration

After a migration/upgrade to a newer version of the CCC application installed as part of the Media Manager, it can happen that CCC functionality is not working correctly. For example, the insert button is missing, and even after you save the active document, you are still told to save the active document before you can upload or access the Link Manager.

This happens due to Adobe caching the CCC plugin code, which refers partly to the new UI, while the application cannot communicate with the underlying CEP engine used to interact with Adobe APIs.

To fix this error, first close the Adobe product.

Then locate the “cep_cache“ folder on your computer:

Windows - C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Temp\cep_cache

MacOS - /Users/<USERNAME>/Library/Caches/CSXS/cep_cache

Then, simply delete all the folders related to the Adobe application that the issue occurs.

This will run the CCC plugin in a clean state

Note

Note: The specific Adobe product can be really slow to start up the first time after this since all the cached content was just deleted
