Using assets

The assets from the DAM displayed in the Adobe CC Connector can be used by simply clicking the Place button on the asset card.

In case of InDesign, once the user has chosen quality, the thumbnail of the image will become attached to the mouse pointer, until the user clicks on the spot on the page, where it should be placed. The user can also pre-select the spot, in which the image should be placed (for example, a frame). If the goal is to replace another image already existing on the page, the user needs to click on it, and then click Place/Use and choose the quality from the connector.
In the case of Photoshop, Illustrator, AfterEfects After Effects, or Premiere Pro, the procedure is simpler and the user can simply click Use on an asset out of the Adobe CC Connector and the asset will be placed on the canvas.

In InDesign, the quality configured on the MM5 config manager (Creative cloud connector - Low insert quality) will be used by default. If this is not set or the asset does not have the specified quality, then it will default to the source. For all the other Adobe products, source will be used. |
Check-in/out

The user has the possibility to lock (check out) an asset while while working on it. The user can can check out the asset by clicking the icon. This prevents others from uploading and replacing the asset.
In the image shows shown below:
(1) shows a green icon of an open lock, which means that the asset is not locked and can therefore be freely used
(2) shows a black icon of a closed lock, which means that the asset is locked (checked out). Hovering the mouse pointer over the lock icon will reveal a tooltip showing who checked out the asset and when auto check-in will occur.

If your user has the role "Administrator", then they have the option to check in the asset by force, by clicking the locked icon. The force check-in dialog will show and clicking Confirm will finish the process.

By using the dropdown, where there are three options available:
Select all assets
Select all assets which have broken links
Select all asset assets which are local assets
Dependent on the state of the assets used in the active document different options become available to the user and the buttons change based on which status the selected asset(s) is/are in.

In the case below, all elements in the table have been selected where each of the 4 possible status states are displayed. The last asset in the table cannot be selected since it is in a status state which has to be fixed manually by reinserting the asset in the InDesign document:

Two cases can occur when uploading a an asset to the DAM:
The asset does not already exist in the DAM and it will be uploaded to the DAM Center
The asset already exists in the DAM Center and a dialog concerning duplicates will be prompted.

Relinking broken links can be done in two ways, i.e. by:
Manually clicking on the text in the Quality column on a specific asset
Selecting all the assets that the user wants to change the asset quality on and then clicking the Change quality button at the bottom of the connector panel.

Files inside a Composition or a Folder will not be displayed inside the Link Manager
