Using assets
...
The assets from the DAM displayed in the Adobe CC Connector can be used by simply clicking the Place button on the asset card.
...
In asset preview mode the user has the option to choose the quality from a list. Click the Use button and a modal box will show with the available qualities to choose from. The possible values depend of on the asset type.
...
Dependent on the application and the asset type, the asset is either opened or directly placed in a predetermined location on the canvas:
In the case of InDesign, once the user has chosen quality, the thumbnail of the image will become attached to the mouse pointer, until the user clicks on the spot on the page, where it should be placed. The user can also pre-select the spot, in which the image should be placed (for example, a frame). If the goal is to replace another image already existing on the page, the user needs to click on it, and then click Place/Use and choose the quality from the connector.
In the case of Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, or Premiere Pro, the procedure is simpler and the user can simply click Use on an asset out of the Adobe CC Connector and the asset will be placed on the canvas.
...
The user has the possibility to lock (check out) an asset while while working on it. The user can can check out the asset by clicking the icon. This prevents others from uploading and replacing the asset.
...
By default when the user checks out an asset, it will be locked for 1 hour. After that, the system will auto check-in the asset. The duration can be changed on the server where the Digizuite DAM is installed. Locate the file \DigizuiteCore\legacyservice\appsettings.json and look for the section CheckInOutDetails.
...
The assets used in InDesign remain in the Digizuite DAM and will be available to other people as links , when the document is sent to them. It is therefore not necessary for the users to send their documents together with all the images used in them. The recipient needs access to the DAM, however, to gain the ability to update links.
When opening a document in InDesign, the system checks all the links to the DAM. If the asset has been replaced in the DAM or the assets are missing on the users user's local hard disk, the system will show a notice with a prompt. The connector will prompt you with the option to direct you to the link manager to relink the missing links.
...
The link manager handles the management of assets. The link manager can be accessed from the menu under the link manager.
...
The following message will be displayed in case no assets are added in the InDesign document:
...
A refresh button to refresh the page in case of an a change. Every time a new asset is inserted in the InDesign document while the link manager is open, the refresh button has to be clicked to update the table
A dropdown to handle the multi-selection of assets in the table
A table to display all the inserted assets in the InDesign document
...
Selecting assets
The table is implemented with selection so the user can select a specific asset. An asset in the table allows for the ability to select assets. They can be selected in two ways:
By manually clicking the asset in the first column of the table
By using the dropdown, where there are three options available:
Select all assets
Select all assets which have broken links
Select all assets which are local assets
Dependent on the state of the assets used in the active document different options become available to the user and the buttons change based on which status the selected asset(s) is/are in.
The three possible buttons that can be displayed are:
...
Relink
...
Upload
...
Relinking, Uploading, Changing the quality
Depending on which assets have been selected, the buttons at the bottom of the page will change accordingly (see image below)
...
There exist 4 states that assets can be in:
No issues: Change quality will appear
Local asset deleted/DAM Center asset has newer version: Relink and Change quality will appear
The asset exists on your computer, but not on the DAM Center: Upload
The asset exists neither locally nor on the DAM Center: No button - the system cannot help you resolve this state
Each button displays the number of assets that can be handled by the specific button.
...
In the case below, all elements in the table have been selected where each of the 4 possible status states are displayed. The last asset in the table cannot be selected since it is in a status which that has to be fixed manually by reinserting the asset in the InDesign document:
In the example below, the marked asset can either be relinked or its quality can be changed:
In the example below, the marked asset can be uploaded into the DAM:
...
The current asset the user tried to upload with the thumbnail of the asset and the file path
All the duplicates which are already in the DAM
Button to choose the action for the specific asset
The number of asset assets that the user tried to upload, which exist in the DAM.
...
The user has two options when clicking the Choose action button:
Upload as a new asset
Relink existing assetassets.
...
If the user wants to upload the asset as a new asset in the DAM, the Upload as a new asset button should be selected.
...
If the user wants to relink the current asset with a an asset in the DAM, the Relink existing asset button should be selected.
