If your DC is older than 4.7.0 (not including 4.7.0) you need to stop the installation, and get in touch with your contact person at Digizuite. |
You also need to verify the following before running the module:
- Digizuite™ DAM for Sitecore (DFS) stores a cached version of all image assets locally. In order to do this, DFS needs write access to the \App_Data\ folder. Sitecore installations have write access to this folder by default.
- The configuration file named Sitecore.ContentSearch.Lucene.DefaultIndexConfiguration.config located in Sitecore Website folder\App_Config\include needs to be enabled. You can verify that it is enabled by looking at the file's extension. If it is .example or .disabled. it is disabled, and therefore needs to be enabled. This is done by simply deleting the .example or .disabled. from the file. This has to be done, even though the Sitecore installation running Solr as default search engine

DFS is installed in the same way as any other Sitecore package. Here are the steps on how to do it:
- Open Sitecore as an administrator
- Navigate to the Desktop mode (see image below)
- Find the Install Wizard under Development Tools
- Click on Upload Package and find the file containing the DAM for Sitecore zip file delivered - usually it's named package.zip
- You now have to press next a couple of times.
- Press Install to continue
- If you're asked to overwrite some files (See the image below), it is because you already have older versions of DFS installed on your Sitecore already. If you're got seeing the below images, please skip down to the image that matches what you're seeing in your active installation.

If you get one or both of the below messages, please be aware of the following: Continuing this guide will delete all data that you have not backed up. In order to prepare yourself for an update, you have to read the update guide (This is the update guide for DFS 8.0.2 - I: Update guide) All assets you have used through DFS previously, will not be available externally after updating, if you have not serialized your silos. Continuing on from here without understanding these consequences, will most likely have you re-embed all assets again. If you are still not certain, please contact your Digizuite contact person for a more detailed explanation. Continue at your own risk |
- If you've already been told by your Digizuite contact person, that it is okay to continue the update, then please continue the installation by either pressing Yes to all. This will overwrite the old versions of DFS's files and delete all silos.
- In the following light box, tick off Overwrite (as in the image below) and press Apply to all.
- Finally, tick off the option to restart the Sitecore and press Close:
The Sitecore DFS plugin has now successfully been installed. However, there are still some steps to go, before the plugin is fully functional.
